Mirek worked with Down East on this wonderful publishing project with Richard Russo and his daughter, artist Kate Russo, to present a tribute to the printed book. This handsome and inventive format—four individually bound volumes gathered in a slipcase—combines the previously unpublished novella “Intervention” with three shorter works, two of which have not been published in book form. Each of the four volumes is paired with a small, full-color print of a painting by Kate Russo. Printed in the United States on the finest sustainably harvested papers, the set is as much a joy to hold in the hand as it is to read. Published by Down East Books.

The Waterfront Restaurant has been serving wonderful food in Camden, Maine for 35 years.

The website we created for them showcases their changing seasonal menus and great photographs from their deck.

Hawk and Handsaw The Journal of Creative Sustainability is a publication of Unity College. We have designed this yearly publication for the last 5 years. The magazine features poetry, fine art and essays on creative sustainability. We had great fun working on this each year.

With the Rockland Breakwater as the backdrop, Rockland Community Sailing is an integral part of mid-coast Maine’s sailing community. Established in 1998 as a summer youth program, they have grown from ten boats to over thirty in 2014. RCS now offers classes for youth, teens and adults. The logo we created for them uses the Breakwater as a graphic element.

This was a super fun project. Billy's Tavern was starting a live story telling series and asked us to create a logo and poster for them. Something to love about a billy goat!

Maine Farmland Trust works to protect farmland, and to keep farming in Maine viable and vital. We worked with them to launch their largest campaign ever, Securing a Future for Farming. This campaign will raise funds to protect 100,000 acres of Maine’s farmland and provide 1,000 farm families individualized services and support. The result was a visually engaging 16 page booklet.

CedarWorks Playsets approached us to redesign their current line of playset catalogs. CedarWorks design and manufacture the most beautiful, environmentally responsible products in the world for active healthy play. After the initial catalog redesign, we created branding for their new indoor product line Rhapsody Series Playsets. The result was an integrated collection of catalogs.

Mirek worked with Down East Books to create this beautiful cookbook and memoir.  If you've ever had a fantasy of living on a Maine island, this book is for you. Kate Shaffer and her husband moved to remote Isle au Haut nearly seven years ago. Once there, they were inspired to open a chocolate company and cafe featuring delicious chocolate and fresh Maine ingredients. Now their products are shipped all over the world ~ and their island cafe is a true Maine destination.

Mirek and Hillary have spent 20 years working with some of the best magazine publishing houses in the UK and Munich, Germany. This work was done from 1995 to 2003. Mirek was the Art Director of German GQ and FHM. Mojo Magazine is published in the UK.

Munich publishers Attic Futura started this magazine in 2000. Mirek created and branded the new publication which was distributed throughout Germany.

Dot’s is about great food, prepared with care. Hillary, developed a memorable identity for this gourmet deli in Lincolnville, Maine.

Llisa approached us to help her create packaging for her organic artisan soaps. She makes these at home and had a limited budget.
We designed a label that could be wrapped around each soap.
The result is beautifully packaged soap bars.

Author Bruce Hensler has been fighting fires for 35 years. He is also a photographer. The website we created for him introduces his book Crucible of Fire. Crucible of Fire describes how the practical knowledge gained from fighting nineteenth-century fires gave form and function to modern fire protection efforts.
